Why join the Toy Library?

Play is important for all children, and toys help encourage play and learning. The best thing about joining our toy library is you get to access a huge number of toys, games and puzzles without the enormous cost of buying them. We all know how babies and children tire of toys after a couple of weeks; our members simply take theirs back to the library and get new ones! Toy libraries are great, budget-friendly, and an environmentally-sustainable way to keep your children entertained and active.

Auckland East Parents Centre’s Toy Library operates like a public library; you can borrow everything from train sets to dolls houses to large outdoor toys, catering from babies to approximately 3 years of age.

The Toy Library’s range of quality toys, puzzles, games and learning activities are available for members to hire for a two week period. Families can hire 3-4 toys and 2 puzzles for a charge of $3.00 per fortnight. In addition to our general selection of toys, there are also larger toys, such as exersaucers, play gyms, and Little Tike cars for hire at a cost of $4.00 per item.

For children’s parties there are small tables and chairs for hire for a minimal charge.

Volunteers share their time in running the library for the benefit of the children in our community. Members of our library kindly support the running of this service by assisting on at least one shift per annum.

Opening Hours

Our library is open every first and third Saturday of the month, 10am to 11am.
